WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an The button will show the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of options. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades on specific levels of the item. upgrade item are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
